About Playbit

Playbit is a personal software environment where data lives independently of any one application. Apps are living documents: things you can open, copy, modify, share, and keep. They continue working across your devices and can perform useful work after you close their interface.

Start with something useful. Copy it, tell Playbit what you want changed and it becomes yours, on all your devices, using your data.

The technical foundation is a portable runtime, a local-first data system, and managed services for synchronization and sharing. People can write apps themselves or ask an LLM to write and modify them. Playbit takes care of setting up databases, servers, authentication, and deployment.
